Laguna Beach Horse Lovers Correspondent
Mike Wallace, shown above with his lovely wife Debra, is a correspondent for Laguna Beach Horse Lovers on special events.
I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I find this event to be like Disneyland for Horse lovers!
This is the 5th year here in Pomona for this three day event, beginning on Friday February 5th and ending on Sunday, February 7th. In those three days folks in attendance can easily be saturated with all things horse. Clinics, exhibits, shopping, lectures. Honestly, I don’t think one can get it ALL in, over a three day period.
Some of THE most renowned clinicians will be hosting sessions from the likes of Craig Cameron, Chemaine Hurtado, Clinton Anderson, Brandi Lyons, and my mentor, Pat Parelli, just to name a few. Everything from Classical Dressage to Cowboy Dressage and all forms of equitation in between will be featured.
In addition, lectures on horse camping, enjoying our horse trails across America, equine nutrition, medicine, chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture are all on the schedule. The shopping is pretty special as well. From Tack to Tractors, to Trailers and Training, it’s all there. Debra and I took home a few really great buys last year.
From a Western States Horse Expo Press Releases:
(Los Angeles, Calif. – September 22, 2014)
“According to a recent study by the American Horse Council, there are over 9.2 million horses in the United States today, and more than 4.6 million Americans who consider themselves equine aficionados. .“
(Los Angeles, Calif. – 2016) “…now that the Expo schedule is already posted online, you can create your own “tour” of the Expo ahead of time so you don’t miss anything. There’s no doubt that it will take a full three days to see everything — and everyone — you’ve wanted to see all year. This year’s roster of clinicians shines like never before and where else can you see
them all in one place? Check out the stellar line‐up of the nation’s best clinicians at www.horseexpoevents.com. You’ll be amazed!”
Debra and I will be volunteering all three days at the BLM Wild Horse and Burro exhibit and auction that will be taking place throughout the event. Stop by to say Hi and to see our American equine heritage on the hoof. Who knows, you may just find that you just have to take one home for yourself!
If you haven’t attended the Horse Expo in the past, or even if you have, you REALLY need to take a day (or more) and experience this year’s truly great event! One day general admission at the gate is $18.00 for adults, ages 6 – 17 $10.00.
